The idea of starting over at 40 is not a foreign concept. Up until now, you may have a degree (or two) under your belt or, decades of experience in the workforce.

You’ve hit 40 and you feel like you can’t picture the next 10 or 20 years in your career.

What’s next?

If you’ve wrestled with the idea of changing careers in your 40s, you are not alone. You’re not too old to change professions, and 40 is actually a great time to finally go after your passions if you haven’t already.

Here are some things to consider when experiencing this life event…

Is 40 the new 20 in the career world?

I have thought about switching careers so many times, believe me.

Even as an entrepreneur, doing the thing I finally figured out was what I wanted.

It’s not a cakewalk.

There are challenges, struggles, and times when I want to give up. And, if I had to switch careers right now, I would be doing something COMPLETELY different, haha.

Probably be a baker in a mom-and-pop bakery, where I’d wake up at 5am, start my shift at 6am listening to music, mixing batter, and proofing dough for bread.
