Playback Rewards: An Honest Review
Playback Rewards is a new app that’s rising up the ranks fast in the Google Play Store. You get rewarded for playing games. If you’re spending your spare time playing phone games, why not monetize it, while you’re at it?
Is Playback Rewards worth it? How much does Playback Rewards pay? And, is it one you should refer to your friends and family as a fun way to make money from your phone?
I signed up to test it out and I’m revealing my honest opinion in this review!

What is Playback Rewards?
You can signup to Playback Rewards on mobile or on desktop. When I joined from my computer, they seeded my account with 1,000 coins!
The games look super fun. There’s a nice variety of them and the first one I landed on paid up to $212 in rewards.

I tried Merge Studio: Fashion Makeover
When you click into a game, you can read the description to learn more about it before you start playing. To make sure you would like it before jumping in.
It prompted me to install the game and start playing. The further you get in the game, the more rewards you get.
- There are over 200 games
- They’ve paid out over 1 Million Dollars to players
How does Playback Rewards work?
Playback Rewards will reward you in a variety of ways. The idea is to earn rewards, i.e. points, that you redeem for gift cards.
The games are pretty simple:
- Pick a game
- Install it and start playing
- Earn rewards
I mentioned that it rewards you in levels, based on how much you play and how far into the game you get.
For example…
- Get to Level 2 (earn 32 points)
- Reach Level 10 in the first 7 days (earn 200 points)
- Complete Level 20 (earn 1000 points)
- Complete Level 30 (earn 2000 points)
It’s not just about download the game and playing it for a few minutes. You truly get incentivized for the more gameplay that happens.
How do Quests work?
These are like mini challenges available that you can complete for points. When I checked the Quests tab, there were none available so, I plan on checking back later in the week to see if any new ones pop up.
Making Money Playing Phone Games?
I call the rewards you earn points, but, they are actually pigs!
You’ll notice that pigs are the theme behind the app and present throughout your playing experience. It think it’s really cute.
There are two ways to earn
- Pigs and,
- Coins
Earn pigs by buying featured game offers and completing tasks.
Earn coins for your non-game purchases.
Cash Out and Getting Rewards
You redeem your pigs for rewards:
- Amazon gift card
- Google Play gift card
- Apple gift card
- Walmart gift card
- Target gift card
- Paypal gift card
Between 500–525 pigs will get you $5 in gift cards.
Playback Rewards Pros and Cons
Here’s the good and the bad…
Pros
- Free app to earn rewards for playing games
- Multiple ways to earn
- Get rewarded and redeem your rewards for gift cards
- Engaging, fun interface and easy to navigate
- Signup bonus
Cons
- Not on Apple App store yet
- Doesn’t pay cash (closest option is Paypal gift cards)
Is Playback Rewards worth it?
Yes, I think it’s worth it. It’s a fun way to get rewarded for playing games. For mobile phone or desktop game players like me, I think it’s a super cool way to earn for your gaming.
This is honestly one of my new favorite money-making apps and ways to make quick money in a day.
It’s not tedious or boring. It’s actually a fun way to earn.
The way I think about it, I’d be playing games on my phone anyway, in my downtime. Why not connect to Playback Rewards to make money on my gaming, instead? It makes sense to me.
