I think both have pros and cons. It's nice to have your own thing, not dependent on a platform, through your own personal blog. But, on Medium, you automatically have access to an audience and can use their higher domain authority to rank easier/faster on search engines, compared to starting from scratch on your own blog. I have both but, I have been using Medium more these days.
