I almost lost my TikTok account

How I fell into this situation and what happened

If you use TikTok like me, you know that after a while, if you remain logged in, the app will just log you out.

No big deal, right?

Wrong!

When this happened to me a few days ago, I just logged back in but, this happened…

How I almost lost my TikTok account

Logging back in was no problem except, it prompted an authentication process that I couldn’t pass.

They texted me a code to a phone number I had linked to my TikTok account. The problem was, I no longer had that number and I hadn’t had it in months!

It was a business phone number that I paused for a while.

So, I reached out to TikTok support to plead my case.

I told them my phone number was turned off and so I wasn’t getting the code they were sending me. I asked them to unlink the phone number or change it for me so I could log on.

And, they said no.
