If you’re looking for a careers course, you’re in the right place. I’ve reviewed dozens of these career courses online over the past few years and this is what I found.

The idea is for you to learn skills that will allow you to work in a career field for a well-paying salary.

For people that want to switch careers, newly graduated and ready to join the workforce, stay-at-home moms that want to enter the workforce, or anybody really, career courses can make a lot of sense.

What is a careers course?

A careers course is a program or course designed to help individuals explore their career options, develop skills, and prepare for employment.

Also called online courses for careers, these courses can range in length, format, and focus, but typically provide a structured curriculum that helps participants learn about different industries, job roles, and career paths.

Some careers courses are offered through educational institutions like universities or vocational schools, while others may be provided by private companies, professional associations, or government agencies.

Depending on the course, participants may receive instruction in areas like resume writing, interviewing techniques, networking, job search strategies, and professional development.

The goal of a careers course is to help individuals make informed decisions about their career paths, and equip them with the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in their chosen field.

By completing a careers course, participants may improve their job prospects, gain valuable experience, and feel more confident and prepared as they navigate the job market.

How do career courses work?

My husband actually took a careers course about 2–3 years ago. It was in the medical field and in about 9 months, he became certified in his career field and snagged his highest earning job ever!

Today, he’s transitioned to a new employer and makes nearly 150% more than that initial salary. It only took him a few years to get here!

Tech is an exciting career field that many people are looking to break into. You can work in high-paying tech roles with minimal experience and education, landing a role that not only pays well but includes amazing benefits and other perks of working for your organization.

A careers course can get your foot in the door with those kind of jobs!

Here’s a step-by-step breakdown of how a career course actually works:

How career courses work can vary depending on the course and the organization offering it, but here are some general guidelines:

  1. Course enrollment: Individuals interested in a career course typically enroll by completing an application and paying any necessary fees.
  2. Course content: The course may consist of lectures, workshops, assignments, and other activities designed to help participants learn about different career options, develop job search skills, and prepare for employment.
  3. Course duration: Career courses can range in duration from a few weeks to several months or longer.
  4. Course format: Courses can be delivered in person, online, or a combination of both. Online courses may be self-paced or have set deadlines for assignments and participation.
  5. Certification: Some courses may offer a certification upon completion, indicating that the participant has gained a certain level of knowledge or skill in a particular area.
  6. Career resources: In addition to the course content, many career courses also offer resources like job boards, networking events, and one-on-one career coaching to help participants find employment.

Overall, the goal of a career course is to help individuals develop the skills and knowledge they need to succeed in their chosen field and ultimately land a job that they find rewarding and fulfilling.

What is CourseCareers?

They offer career courses in:

What is tech sales?

Tech sales, also known as technology sales or software sales, is a career field that involves selling technology products or services to businesses or consumers. The products or services sold by tech sales professionals can include hardware, software, cloud-based solutions, and IT services.

Tech sales professionals may work for:

  • Technology companies
  • Consulting firms, or
  • Other organizations that offer technology solutions

You will work as a sales development representative or other tech sales job title. Your primary goal is to identify potential customers, understand their needs, and persuade them to purchase the technology products or services that they are selling.

Tech sales professionals must have strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as a deep understanding of the technology products or services they are selling. They need to be able to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical individuals, and to demonstrate how their product or service can solve specific business problems or improve operations.

Tech sales can be a highly lucrative career field, as many technology products and services have high profit margins. However, it can also be a highly competitive field, and success in tech sales requires a combination of technical knowledge, sales skills, and an ability to build strong relationships with clients.

What is digital marketing?

Digital marketing is the practice of promoting and selling products or services through digital channels, such as search engines, social media, email, and websites.

The goal of digital marketing is to reach potential customers where they are spending their time online, and to engage with them in a way that is relevant and effective.

Digital marketing encompasses a wide range of tactics and strategies, including:

  • Search engine optimization (SEO): The process of optimizing website content and structure to rank higher in search engine results pages (SERPs) for relevant keywords.
  • Pay-per-click (PPC) advertising: Paid advertising that appears at the top of search engine results pages or on social media platforms, targeting specific keywords or user demographics.
  • Social media marketing: Using social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram to promote products or services and engage with customers.
  • Email marketing: Using email to communicate with customers and prospects, and to promote products or services.
  • Content marketing: Creating and publishing high-quality content like blog posts, videos, and infographics to attract and engage potential customers.
  • Mobile marketing: Marketing efforts specifically targeted to mobile devices, such as mobile app advertising or text message marketing.

This is a fast-growing field, and requires a combination of technical skills and marketing knowledge. Digital marketers must be able to analyze data, measure the effectiveness of their marketing campaigns, and adapt their strategies based on changing consumer behaviors and technology trends

What is IT support?

IT support, also known as technical support, is a service provided by IT professionals to help individuals or organizations with technical issues related to hardware, software, or computer networks.

The goal of IT support is to ensure that technology systems and devices are functioning properly, and to help users troubleshoot and resolve any technical problems they may encounter.

IT support professionals may work for companies, government agencies, or other organizations in a variety of industries. Their job duties can include:

  • Providing help desk support to end-users who are experiencing technical problems with their computers, software applications, or other technology devices.
  • Installing, configuring, and maintaining computer hardware, software, and network systems.
  • Conducting system and network audits to identify potential security risks and vulnerabilities.
  • Troubleshooting and resolving technical issues related to computer hardware, software, and network systems.
  • Providing training to end-users on how to use technology devices and applications effectively.

IT support requires a strong technical background, as well as excellent communication and problem-solving skills. IT support professionals must be able to explain technical concepts to non-technical individuals in a way that is easy to understand, and to work collaboratively with other IT professionals to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.
