Are UGC content creators the new influencers?

UGC or user-generated content is totally taking over. I’ve been hearing more and more about it over the media recently but, it’s been in existence for a while.

This is how it works…

Brands need content created for:

  • Email campaigns
  • Paid ads
  • Organic social media posts
  • Their website
  • Etc.

When it’s time to get that content, brands can either hire a social media manager/strategist to put together that content for them or, do influencer marketing or go with UGC.

More and more brands are going with UGC!

For UGC creators, this is huge!

It gives creators a chance to work with brands creating content and making a lucrative income, while they’re at it!

UGC creators vs influencers?

UGC creators are the cheaper option, in my opinion.

As a UGC creator, you are someone that’s required to create content that the brand will use at their disposal.

This creator does not have to post on social media or use their own social media account in any way. They just create content for the brand and the brand owns the content.

An influencer does the same thing but they are posting to their social media account. They can charge a brand for the content including posting to their audience plus usage rights in the future.

It’s way more expensive, in my opinion, but, the brand does get exposure to that influencer’s audience (one time or over a period of time, depending on the campaign).

A brand can get a larger volume of content created at a fraction of the price of working with an influencer.
